To bring vibrancy, creativity, and artistry to our community, Colors4Change NJ teamed up with their high school’s art club to hold an art drive from April 6th to April 28th. Students and staff donated new and gently used crayons, colored pens, pencils, and sketch markers. Colors4Change organized sorting sessions with the student-run L.E.O Club, which strives to provide leadership opportunities for youth. Together, they successfully donated two large boxes of supplies to our local arts center for their upcoming summer camp for underprivileged children living in impoverished communities. Additionally, they donated two large boxes to a nearby YMCA.
Meanwhile, in Illinois, Colors4Change has also been making significant strides. Partnering with CB&I, they collected donations including binders for Cradles to Crayons, which supports children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations by providing essential items they need to thrive at home, school, and play. They didn’t just stop there. Boxes of supplies went to Edwards Hospital in Naperville, Illinois to help bring joy to sick children. Their reach extended thousands of miles to the Dominican Republic, where they coordinated with a Peace Corps member to donate supplies to children in need. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces is our ultimate reward and reinforces our mission at Colors4Change.
We encourage everyone to continue finding ways to donate art supplies. Identify local centers that need resources to help kids pursue their passion for art. Let’s make a difference one action and individual at a time.
