Colors4Change’s visit to Ekjut

This past holiday season, Colors4Change received the opportunity to visit Ekjut’s office in Chakradharpur, India. Ekjut is a non-profit organization based in India dedicated to the welfare of women and children, improving mental health, and reducing homelessness. Dr. Nirmala Nair and Dr. Prasanta Tripathy, the co-founders, taught us about Ekjut’s missions and operations. Their hard work and dedication to helping others is truly inspiring.

We visited 1 of the 350 crèches Ekjut has established throughout India. The crèches serve as a daycare in underserved villages for toddlers. Ekjut hires two experienced women to provide care for the children. The crèches are a safe environment for children to receive nutritious meals, clean water, and stimulation for their young minds.

Colors4Change brought the crèches various art supplies for the children to use to express their creativity. We spent the afternoon distributing supplies and coloring with the children!
