Colors4Change recently collaborated with AjoyKindergarten, a school in Mafinga, Tanzania to build a well in the town as a reliable source of clean water. We wanted a creative way to raise money for the cause that would allow people both locally and internationally to get involved, and so the idea of a virtual art auction was born.
Throughout the summer, our team worked restlessly to contact artists from across the world, and we were fortunate enough to find multiple talented artists who were willing to donate a piece to be sold in order to raise the money necessary to finance the construction of the well in Tanzania. After finding the artists, our primary focus was to spread the word of the art auction throughout the community. Through flyers and social media advertisements, word of the art auction was very quickly plastered across every Colors4Change platform. Although it was difficult to navigate hosting an event online, we were able to successfully get the auction up and running, and over the course of the week that the auction took place, we were ultimately able to raise around $2,000 to go towards the first payment for the well.
