Most people expect a new chapter to start off slow, but Tennessee didn’t. For our very first donation drive, we collected 108 pounds, bringing color to the Memphis community way faster than we imagined.
It all started with Anvi’s idea to host our first drive at Asha’s Refuge, a refugee nonprofit in Memphis. After some planning and coordination, the social media post went out and donations started coming in. From friends and family to support from Pleasant Hill Art Center, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, and Collierville High School, the response was honestly amazing. On Earth Day, we packed everything up together and drove out to Asha’s Refuge. It felt like the perfect day to do it, giving back while also being mindful of the environment.
Huge thank you to everyone who supported us. It really means a lot and motivates us to keep growing Colors4Change Tennessee. Just a reminder that even a pound of crayons can make a difference!
